Depending on whether your radio is a single or double DIN, it may be a drop-in replacement for your 2005 Sonata. If it is a single DIN, (the skinny version), yes, it will be easy to replace. If it is a Double Din, the taller version, than you'll need to have a fit kit to cover the area that will not be covered by the removal of the stereo.
