These do that, but switching between the phone and laptop requires you to actually disconnect from one before you connect to the other. You can't just start playing on your new device and have it automatically switch over like some buds. A little bit of a pain, but not too bad. As far as using the buds independently I have confirmed that you can use either the right or left bud without the other being present. Just be aware that when you're using both the right is the master so you have to either turn it off or put it in the case and then re-connect with your device using just the left bud if that's the one you want to use.

I don't need to pair them again, just disconnect/connect. You can't listen to one device with the right headphone and another device with the left. They always connect to the last device even if it was the alternate headphone that was connected to it.
