USB 2 and USB 3 slots are exactly the same, as far as connectivity. Their specs differ, however, so the best you would get with connecting A USB 2 to USB 3 is slowing down the USB 2 part and possibly delivering more power. However, this adapter is for none of these purposes, as it is an adapter to/from USB C..

Please try again later.Your laptop’s io (input and output ports: USB A,B or C versions, lightening, phono jack, VGA, serial, parallel, HDMI, other video flavors, SD slot, proprietary inputs [docking & etc] capabilities are dependent on what type of ports are built onto your laptop’s motherboard. There is nothing external you can do to change the chartacteristics/capabilities (voltage, transfer rates & etc) of your laptop’s built-in ports.
