Most phones do not have a full size USB port and would not be able to directly interface with this device. You would need to connect both the phone and the thumb drive to a PC to enable backing up or transferring of data between the two devices.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I phones do NOT have a normal USB port, but rather a microUSB port, which is considerably smaller than the standard USB port. The two ports are NOT interchangeable, but you can buy several units that has BOTH ports on it, a standard USB on one end, and a mircoUSB on the other end. GREAT ITEM TO HAVE ! Just do a search on the following string ' usb 3.0 micro usb ' and you will find two to choose from, 32 and 64 GB versions ON SALE as of 12-2-16 ! I attached a couple of examples to help you !
