XMP is needed to get any RAM to run over 2133. XMP is simply some kindof pre-recorded profiles that your motherboard sets. These are often added and improved through BIOS updates. Its possible your motherboard might not recognize your RAM's profile and may need to be put in manually but it will work at 2400 as long as your motherboard and CPU supports it XMP.
