• You have to do that manually. When I popped it in the first time it gave me FAT32 but reformatted them immediately. Use them to as bootable OS installers. Even works with Macs.

• Typically, flash drives are formatted FAT32/MBR. GPT is typically only used on drives 2TB and larger. Either way you can always reformat the drive however that you want.
