My laptop is a c55D-B5219 and this ram chip is compatible and does improve speed noticeably. I suspect, but don't know with certainty, the ram chip in question will do the same for your laptop.

By going from 4g to 8g of installed ram, you will see better performance. I would also add a ssd harddirve. They are fairly inexpensive and make a huge difference.
