Yes, you can watch movies from it. Although, the device’s application for Apple, the iXpand Drive App, has a huge limitation. On an iPad the app has a 50 file transfer limitation. This is a big shortcoming in real world applications. This limitation does not pertain to using the device on Windows, only when using the app on Apple. I hope Sandisk resolves this issue in the near future, but until then it should be listed on the packaging or in the documentation that comes with the device.
