“I notice these only have a 1 year warranty. I want a portable device for when I travel (infrequently) to carry my files for work and I've had a couple SanDisk fail and they fortunately have 5 year warranty, so I was able to get them replaced.”

Hi, I can't speak to the longevity of this device, but if I were you, I'd stick with the devices that have proven, long term warranties. And ALWAYS back up your work to multiple devices. If it's on an SD card, leave it there. Copy that to a hard drive or some flash storage and make another copy to another device. If you have had good luck with SanDisk and their warranty, I'd just keep working with those. They are an excellent brand, typically. Good luck.

Please try again later.I can't be of much help unfortunately, I know that I've had some of my SanDisk for over 5 years and never have had a issue with them...i have videos on then and have never had a issue pulling them up..whereas I have had issues with a portable hard dirve...good luck
