I did order this card while the site still specified ddr5 everywhere on the site. I ended up receiving a ddr4 card which was only specified on a small sticker on the card itself. I did research beforehand and saw that they 'silently' switched to ddr4 and specifically purchased this one because it specifically said ddr5 everywhere. Once i realized i received ddr4, I contacted pny to question their unadvertised performance change to a well established model. They did send me a ddr5 card replacement (RMA) free of charge. Even the menus on my media server were so choppy with the ddr4. They are very smooth with the ddr5 version. It is a great media server card if you get the ddr5 but the ddr4 is not sufficient. Bottom line is that you cant trust that you will receive the ddr5 version when ordering this model from pny although it seems best buy has updated their description to dd4.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The fact that they listed ddr4 in the specs and some are saying they got the gddr5 deeply concerns me and just seeks to be a way of covering their butts and they could possibly be sending out both variants seemingly at random. This is a very important question Tony is asking as the ddr4 variant is FAR FAR inferior to the gddr5 and not only that but its double the price its supposed to be.
