If I understand the question right... It sounds like you are thinking of system ram, and that's totally different and has nothing to do with what is on the graphics card. The version of the card sold here is DDR4. If you buy directly from PNY, it should have the properly spec'd GDDR5 ram on it. It doesn't matter to your computer what the ram type is on the graphics card - that's only for the card to deal with. A graphics card can have anything from DDR SDRAM to GDDR6 or better, your PC won't care. All you need to be sure of is that you have the right slot type to plug it into - a PCIe x16 slot (typically the longest one on the motherboard if you have a board made in the last 15 years or so).
