“I have a Dell Inspiron 3668 with I3-7100 CPU @3.90 GHz with Intel HD Graphics 630. I would like to upgrade. This is a work computer for 3d home design, no gaming. Will the GT 1030 work in my machine? I know that Dells are very finicky in what they allow.”

Yes it will work just fine. You could possibly squeeze a 1050 in if you really wanted to.
