• You will be able to use the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller with Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl. Joy-Cons will work as well.

• Yes, you can use the Pro Controller. This is a standard Pokemon game. The game that used the Pokeball was a game aimed at newcomers from the Pokemon GO boom.
