Q: QuestionWhy does Best Buy choose to allow for shady business practices to occur, by letting scalp bots override their website to take stock in 2 seconds? Is it because they don’t care about their customers, and only care about selling product? Thoughts?
Asked by Giovanni.
- A:Answer You say it like they want bots to cook their whole site in 2 seconds. That’s not how this works. Sites don’t ‘allow’ bots they just brute-force their way in because they’re automated and faster than humans. It’s an arms race since once retailers patch something, bot devs find a new angle. Nobody’s sitting in a Best Buy boardroom going, ‘Yes, release the bots.’
