You select and edit your picture first using the Polaroid smartphone app, then you rest the phone face-down on the Lab platform. There are sensors on the platform that read your phone and automatically align the image to make sure it is straight. There is a full tutorial on the app, with instructions, and the entire process is very easy.

You turn screen brightness all the way up, make sure no day/night mode is on, and set your phone straight up and down onto the printer surface. It aligns it automatically itself and it indicates when it is safe to hit the print button! :)
