If you are looking to replace a bookshelf speaker with a floor standing, there will be a difference. You will probably get more bass. The wattage output is comparable. I am looking into the xt15 for rear speakers. Good luck!

But considering the difference in frequency response, our Polk Audio XT60 should prove to be a significant upgrade over the R15 bookshelf speakers. As long as your current amplifier is decent, the change will most definitely be noticeable.

The speaker did not come with any wires and I need to purchase wires and a receiver to hook wires into…I assume. I never hooked up any type of home theater before so I’m trying to learn some things. I love bass and I want a good surround sound with good bass sounds as well… but I don’t want to spend a ton of money, So what I need to know is what items I need to purchase that would help me achieve a good quality surround sound
