“I have passive bookshelf speakers. I do get bass on subwoofer but I don't get output to the speakers.”

I would check your connections and configuration. I setup mine with RCA cables between the sub and stereo. The speakers are wired to my stereo. I think the sub has a switch if you want to connect the speakers directly to the sub instead of the stereo.

If this output does not exist, you can use speaker outputs with throughput to your current speakers. This should be in your papers with your unit...
