• Should not cause a problem. Make sure your stereo is turned down low and try it.

• In my opinion, the connects are really meant to support the smaller surround sound speaker configurations. I have large floor standing speakers and do not get anywhere near the expected performance from connecting them directly to my amp/receiver.
