The blue light on my 5220 doe not remain on all the time. It flashes when I turn on the unit and it flashes red or blue during recharging. Hopefully you purchased the Geek Squad protection plan. If you did, it's good for 2 years.

Once the installation is complete connect the headset via-USB and go to the notifications tab to check for new updates. In order to be able to make the earpiece discoverable you need to set it in pairing mode. To do so: with the earpiece powered on, press and hold the call button (black button on the back of the microphone boom) for 6 or 8 seconds until the indicator light starts flashing red and blue repeatedly. Then go to your phone's Bluetooth settings and you should see the PLT device listed. Select o pair and test the unit.
