I use mine on a hard plastic cover that has a little texture. The adhesion is insanely good.

Yes. If you have a glass back it should come with another item for you to place first and then the socket so the glass isn't messed up.

It should work if the case is a smooth finish but if your case has a textured finish it may not stick. It comes with a self adhesive sticky disc that sticks to where you place it.
