“Is any wireless adapter needed and would this work as a third controller counting the two joycons?”

• No wireless adapter needed on our switch (not sure it is different for the different versions, we got our switch like 2 years ago) but that is why I went with this controller and yes they play with this one and two joy cons all the time! It connected pretty easy as well!

• No you do not need a adapter if it’s wireless,Also you can press the button between the L R on the controller for it to connect to the console itself.
