- Answer There is no filter but you should clean the unit every 3 months. Go on you-tube and they have a video how to clean the unit

- Answer This is not the model that self cleans. That would be Primo 601118. Don't know why they advertise it that way.

- Answer The dispenser controls on this model are mechanical so the unit will dispense the water that is in its reservoirs without electricity. However, the electric water pump will not replenish the reservoirs if electricity is not available.

- Answer It does make a noise when you dispense water but not loud at all. A red light goes on when it needs to be refilled.

- Answer It appears so. But I can't figure out how to do it without spilling water all over the floor. Having a difficult time finding instructions, but there appears to be a hook-up in the back that corresponds to our wall supply outlet.
