“The Nintendo manufacturers warranty actually only lasts 90 days on this product, not 1 year (as the website says). Will BestBuy honor the 1 year warranty for people who were mislead by their website? Because Nintendo said they won't.”

This is something you would have to deal with Best Buy. It’s not on Nintendo hand that Best Buy mislead customers.

Just call the 1800 number of Nintendo & they will assist you. NINTENDO even replaces joycons that has problems with the sticks & buttons without problem.

I actually have no idea. I think if your controller is defective you should at least try to exchange it.
