When the screen is in handheld mode, you can play using this controller.  This controller used a USB-A to USB-C charging cord.  It charges at the same normal speed as other charging controllers.

You can’t charge the controller directly to the console unless you have a third party attachment, but you can keep the controller charged while playing docked.

There’s been times I’ve gone a month or two without charging when I haven’t played often, & around two weeks when playing regularly.

The controller uses USB-C & the OEM cable it comes with charges it fully in less than half an hour if completely empty.

For games with gyro, if you are interested in that, charging the controller while playing a game can change the weight balance a bit & make it feel a bit awkward.
