Hey there Stew4424, Yes, you are able to play the Nintendo Switch with just the Pro Controller in tabletop mode. Even if the Joy cons are on the system, simply connect your Pro Controller and make sure it is the "Player 1" controller. Have fun!

Yes, once you pair the pro controller to the Switch, it de-pairs the two single Joycons by default. This way, it's like playing on a tiny portable screen but still has the feeling of console gaming instead of handheld gaming. I do this often to save space or while traveling to the in-laws for vacation.

Yes it would. You can use the controller docked or not docked. You do not need to remove the joycons for it to work
