He just plugs his in using the charging cord. It didn't have a way of knowing if it was fully charged or not. He just charges his for an hour or two after he uses it, so far, his has not gone completely dead.

The charge cable comes with the unit. you can use any adaptor with USB output such as phone charger or a laptop or computer USB post or a tablet charger and so on.....
