Yes. When you register, it will ask you if you want a 1 year subscription or a 2 year subscription. You can update to the lastest version during your subscription period and anytime an update is available. This is a new subscription method of usage. The old method of purchase software, then it's yours no longer exists. You may be limited as to what features (like bill-pay) are available once your subscription expires.

However, if the outer case said 2020 then it will go on line and get the latest version and once you register it will tell you when newer versions are available. It will continue for 1 year. Quicken like most other software packages has gone to a yearly subscription.
