Consumers frequently use the term "Teflon" to refer to any nonstick coating. However, Teflon is a trademark for nonstick coatings and other products. Nonstick cookware made with Teflon brand nonstick coatings is safe for consumer use, but like any home appliance or houseware product, cookware can be misused and abused. Our cookware is not made with Teflon brand nonstick, and are made with a traditional nonstick coating manufactured without PFOA. The nonstick coating used on our cookware lines contains PTFE. PTFE is the chemical name of the nonstick coating-- it's the actual ingredient that makes the cookware "nonstick". Nonstick coatings have been and continue to be safe to household use and meet all Federal guidelines.
