The lights project from the north side of the plastic board into its surface area. There are maybe a handful and you can sometimes see their distict projection cone. The edges are akin to the round circumference of the open top of a large plastic water bottle. It's just round smooth hard plastic. Not sharp, not rough, just smoothly beveled. The surface area of the pad feels like a very smooth plastic you would find on the dashboard of a upper mid range sedan.

Smooth surface make it easy to glide .surface area should be more than enough for you not to be on the edge. If you have high sensitivity you don’t need to move much. The mat is a hard plastic glass type not soft fabric. Razer firefly v2 pro is perfect when gaming .i use mine with razer adder pro
