No you have to have a mouse pad. You can pick up a good corsair one for about $15.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hey there BigGuy, The Razer Synapse software lets you change a lot of the mouse settings. I set it up on a plain desk surface, had issues, then set it up to work with a Razer Sphex mousepad, and continued to have the same issues. There was no noticeable difference between the desk surface and the pad. But honestly, I recommend you save your money and buy another brand of mouse. Don't make the same mistake I did. This is a $20 mouse with $50 worth of branding and package design. Oh, and stickers... you get stickers.
