The surround sound is good on these, you have a pretty good idea of where everyone is, but I would say that the play headset has better surround sound in terms of precise location accuracy

When you are gaming, the headphones will make sounds only come through from one earphone and make sounds louder and quieter in various places around your ear so that you can actually tell the exact direction the sound is coming from as if you were actually there. It also has a rumble feature which enhances this effect even more. It works extremely well for shooter games to hear precise locations of enemies.

It can work with the ps4 but you can’t adjust the settings as far as the rgb or the eq or how hard the haptic feedback is. That is done via the pc but saved to the device so if you set it up on the pc and then hook to the ps4 the settings will be there still. Hope this helps. I love the headset.
