Hello Jay - The signal strength at your location is one of the major factors on whether an antenna can receive a signal or not. Unfortunately there are some locations where it is difficult to get a great viewing experience. A basement is typically not a highly recommended location to place an antenna. In most instances we recommend placing your antenna as high up as possible, near a window, facing the direction of your local broadcast towers.
