“Is this the battery for a Canon 5D mark III? The ad only refers to 7D mark II.”

It will work in the 5d mark iii. It is the replacement for the original LP-E6 battery.

Yes, I was wondering the same thing, I was getting it for my 5dmarkiii too, I researched it and it's just the newer version and supposivly holds a little bit more of a charge, I've been using them for the past couple weeks and have been great.

Yes. If your camera uses an LP-6E then it can also use the LP-6EN. I used both in my 60D. Bud
