It is much smaller and does not require a 2-inch cord to plug in. For me it was worth the upgrade. Looks OEM in the vehicle and since it’s not in the way, my wife does not unplug it to use the center consol area. Same great connection and display quality as the CPW-42 in my opinion.

Please try again later.According to Google, the primary difference is likely internal component improvements or firmware updates in the 52 model over the 42, but both are designed for the same purpose. If it were me, I would go with the 52 as more updated hardware will most often be more reliable. I have the 52 and it works exactly like I wanted. I wanted to pretend that the manufacturer of my car included Wireless CarPlay and that is the experience I am having with it now.
