D0 I need an outside antena for this to work? null

No, my suburban is missing antenna, it broke off in car wash and my Bluetooth and it still works.

My vehicle is missing the antenna and the Bluetooth works just fine

No just plug into car lighter and connect to phone via Bluetooth or direct wire. Connection to car radios thru low power fm broadcast. I guess there could be an issue if your car radio antenna was real far away, like in a class a Rv, but cars good

I think it should work without an antenna since it transmits FM frequency on it own don’t need any long reach.
