Hello! The FM3 FM transmitter simply uses the power that your vehicle is putting out. However, some modern vehicles have cigarette socket ports that are constantly on, if that's the case for your vehicle, then it is possible it could drain the battery. Check your vehicle's manual to see if it is always hot or if it only turns on with the ignition.
