“How far away can these work? If I have my alarm base at home, can I set these in my rental guest home two miles away? I want to be able to monitor movement when there are no active guests”

I would think so. The thing we like about our Ring Pro system is it can be self monitored when we are away from home. You get sensor trigger notices and you can view all cameras on the system from your phone or tablet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The motion sensor has to communicate with the base station, and they have to be within something like 50 feet. So putting one in a house two miles away and hoping it will communicate with the two-mile-distant base station will not work.
