Since it runs on a removable, rechargeable quick-release battery pack, there's no hardwiring required unless you choose to connect it to an existing doorbell system. The doorbell simply sits on a mounting bracket that is screwed into your wall or door frame. To remove it, you use the included tool to take off the faceplate, then lift the doorbell off the bracket and unscrew the bracket from the wall.
