Hi AnthonyS82. Thank you for asking. No, the Car Cam cannot be powered using an alternate power source. The Ring Car Cam is powered by connecting to your car’s OBD-II port. Most vehicles built and sold in the U.S. after January 1, 1996, were required to be OBD-II equipped.
