Do you need to have a monthly plan like ADT to use these products?? can i purchase and just use my home wifi and the app to manage it or do I need to sign some sort of contract with ring? null

Don’t need plan. Everything works. Plan is only for video saving and protection.

You can use this product as a stand alone device & manage it from your phone. I believe you can do that with the Ring door bell as well. Ring does provide a monitoring service with their products. I think it is $3 a month for a single device and $10 to monitor everything (motion sensors, cameras etc). I have been very pleased with this product so far. The motion sensor picks up someone walking through the tree that blocks my walkway and the camera has a really good image day and night. I would recommend this product.

You get an initial trial period, then yes, you have to pay a yearly fee. It is not as expensive as ADT.

You can use it without the plan but you can only see live video feed, if you get the plan the videos are saved online. So if there is motion and you don’t view the feed you miss what happened but with the plan you can go back and see what triggered the motion.
