I have mine pretty high up over my garage and under an attic window.

For optimal motion detection, the Ring Floodlight Cam Plus Wired should be mounted between 9 and 11 feet off the ground. Your Floodlight Cam Wired Plus security camera must be installed on a 4" round UL-listed weatherproof electrical box.
