“When you mount it to an horizontal soffit... how do you configure the camera/lights. Do you still position the lights above the camera, or do you flip it and have the camera above the lights?”

I positioned mine above the camera and the picture/visibility is perfect day or night.

If you would be so kind as to take a look at the link below you will find detailed instructions on how to mount your Floodlight Cam. https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001262186-Floodlight-Cam-Installation-Step-1-Install-the-Bracket. However, please do note installing Floodlight Cam requires hardwiring hot, or live, wires into a standard junction box. Ring highly recommends that you engage a licensed electrician for this.
