“Can a person (would be burglar) set up a ladder, race up and steal the device and then reuse it , or sell it? Seems to me, you will have to secure it to the eave, soffit, or whatever, real well or it could be stolen in a matter of seconds itself.”

I got the floodlight motion light cam. I read reviews and decided I didn't want a battery operated one do to having to replace the battery every 6 months at a cost of $30. I bought the wired one. I took down my back porch light and wired the cam light. It works wonderful it was the best purchase ever. I feel secure at home and when away. A friend visited that didn't know I had it and when she approached the porch I said hi Korin, she was startled, she thought it was great. Someone would have to carry tools and ladder, but they would be spotted and scared off before they could remove it. I has a siren plus you can tell them don't even think about it or what ever the police are on their way. I didn't broadcast I had it, I don't always say something when someone comes, I watch my packages being delivered. I love it I want to get another for the other porch. You can set it to avoid all little things from setting it off, I have it set for people. I wish you luck this will set your mind free of theft..

A person could come and attempt to manipulate the device, but by then you would be alerted to their presence with the 140 degree motion alerts on your device. Ring provides lifetime protection on their devices encase anything happens and with a police report, would replace the unit(s).

If you are that worried about your security devices being stolen and resold...I would suggest not buying this product and using that savings to save up and move to a better neighborhood.
