Once you install the RING Floodlight and security camera, you can turn the floodlight on or off from the app on your phone. However, the light will turn on automatically at night if there is any motion in its field of view. If you do not want a floodlight, then you should buy the camera alone without the floodlight.

Yes, you can manually turn off your Floodlights through the free Ring app. Your cam will still detect motion even after you toggle the lights to the "off" position.
