how far away from wifi can you be null

I had to add an additional node to my Linksys system to send a strong signal to the 2 of these I have outside. If you only have one source of wi-fi with no nodes or extenders, it may not function very well.

There is a relay available. My device sits about 15 feet from my router. Connection is good.
