Hi LA45, It is not required to have an existing Floodlight to replace the Ring Floodlight Cam with however, you will need to install wiring in order to install the Ring device. Please email you if you'd like to discuss this further: [email protected] Bilan J, Customer Satisfaction Specialist
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The ring floodlight cam needs power from an electrical receptacle in order to work. There is no option for battery. You would need the stickup cam or spotlight battery cam for this option.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I used my existing flood light wiring to hook up the camera - bought the one with the floodlight. If you can do the wiring or get someone to do it you can install without already having something in place but you will need something. It was really simple to connect it to the wiring I already had. Hope this answers your question.
