Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello Jmu, Almost all Ring products use wifi (wireless networking) to connect to the internet. The Ring Indoor Cam is compatible with b/g/n wifi networks operating on 2.4 GHz frequencies. 2Mbps is recommended for optimal performance. Ring doorbells and security cameras are intended to be used with your home wifi network, not a mobile device hotspot. Using a hotspot instead of a home wifi network may cause repeatedly failed setup attempts or your Ring device to continually disconnect from wifi. Here is a helpful article about making wifi work for your device: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020044511-How-to-Make-Wifi-Work-For-You. We invite you to reach out at https://community.ring.com/ if any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Indoor Cam pre-purchase question. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their feedback and experiences with Ring. Thank you, Alexis with Ring
