Good question. No, the Ring Indoor Cam does not use an SD card to store videos. In order to save, review, and share video recordings, you can subscribe to a Ring Protect Plan. Without a Ring Protect Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring camera when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events.

This is a Ring video cam. It does not stre videos via internal or external storage. It stores videos in the cloud. You will need to get the ring protect plan to store the videos. It does detect motion.
