RING states that they are completely weatherproof and designed to be out in the elements. I have three of them outside, two attached to the underside of my deck to give them some protection from the elements, but one is in the open which is used for the same reason you’re thinking about. It covers my car which is parked outside. It works great and shows no signs of wear or deterioration from exposure to the weather.

It's also important to note that the Ring Bridge is required for smart controls and to receive notifications via the Ring app when motion is detected.
