Hi, if you are not securing out of reach of passersby, I would encourage using this indoors. I have one set up on the inside sill of a window facing the outside (street) and the video is excellent during the daytime. However the lights on the front of the camera do interact with the glass of the window and the view is obstructed at night. They remain on all the time at night to support recording in night mode, so there is no way to avoid the glare that they produce on the glass of the window at night.

In order to get proper motion detection, battery-powered cameras using passive infrared motion detection should not be placed facing a window or in front of a glass door. Passive infrared sensors are used for motion detection in all of Ring's battery-powered products. It is optimized for low-power operations to maximize battery life.
